Cancer Registry Award:

The Utah Cancer Registry was awarded the Charles R. Smart Visionary Award at the American Cancer Society Legacy and Leadership banquet on Tuesday, May 17, 2011.  Each year, the award is given to an organization or individual in Utah whose talents, vision, support and dedication has lead to numerous medical advancements, toward finding a cure for cancer and/or provided services to cancer patients.  This award truly recognizes the commitment and dedication of all UCR staff, past and present; and, the UCR's contribution towards cancer research and public health for the past 45 years is a testament to the legacy of Dr. Charles Smart's vision for cancer surveillance.
