Operations

The Utah Cancer Registry employs professional and technical staff to fill the following core functions:

  1. maintaining registry operations
    • case finding
    • abstracting
    • coding
    • quality control
  2. investigating important issues in cancer control and etiology;
  3. acting as administrative and scientific liaison to researchers, physicians, pathology laboratories and hospitals in special studies;
  4. responding to requests from local hospitals, the press, health professionals, researchers, and the public;
  5. conducting surveys of the population of Utah related to cancer control.
